THE ZENAS KING MEMORIAL BRIDGE

GRANVILLE, VERMONT

This bridge was erected by Zenas King’s youngest son, Harry Wheelock King in 1908, to commemorate the work of his father, who was born in Granville, then known as Kingston, in 1818. It is a beam girder bridge that was a very popular product in the last years of the King Bridge Company and was used particularly for railroad crossings. For many years this bridge served as the only access to the Granville Manufacturing Company, maker of the famous Granville wooden bowls, which owns the bridge. The bridge is on the Vermont register of historic places.
